Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced problems to water systems, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying protection systems and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets targeted energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under intense attacks overnight. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were wounded.

The assaults come after nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
